I worked with my lovely client, Jane Fatino, and one of our favorite builders, Mike Paclik, with Watermark to transform Jane’s bathroom. Jane is an artist and has a lovely home with her beautiful artwork everywhere. The bathroom was all builder grade quality. It did not live up to the rest of Jane’s house and her elegant style. Pay special attention to the beautiful tile work detail in the gorgeous after pictures. Being an artist, Jane loves detail and so a plain tile design would not do. You will notice that the shower is also ADA friendly to accommodate Jane’s husband. This is an example of accommodating a disability and the space still being gorgeous.
Our North Austin client’s bathroom was in need of an update. The wallpaper was the first thing that had to go. The addition of rich warm tile and paint color tones, new wood stained cabinets and intricate tile work make this bathroom a success.
Before
My lovely client, Jan C., has a great home in Travis Heights. As with many of the homes in that area, the square footage is quite a bit smaller than most homes built today. Jan especially wanted a more functional kitchen.
After
Working with the builder Carl Gradek of Gradek Construction and collaborating with Robin Bond on the finish out selections, Jan ended up with a beautiful and functional kitchen that is now the heart of her home.
My bachelor client was tired of his bachelor pad looking bedroom and wanted to create a luxury retreat. He had photos from a trip to Italy that we used for inspiration for the room. We achieved the luxury feel my client was going for by installing blackout double traversing draperies, a custom chair and high end dresser from Peninsula. The bedding is from Chelsea Frank. My client initially wanted a poster canopy bed, but it would have overpowered the bedroom in his small condominium. There was also a glass wall that screamed 1980’s and so I decided to do a ceiling mount cornice behind the bed with sheers to break up the mirror and give the bed the feel of a canopy without eating up the space. The chandelier over the bed allows light to flicker off of the mirror that is behind the sheers giving the room a romantic quality. This room ended up getting published in Vision Magazine.
This is one of the two rooms in the guest house. This room is all gray, cream and white tones with touches of silver. The wing back chair is a chair that was part of the things stored. We reworked the style and recovered it so now it is a high end piece of furniture that will hold up for years to come.
Our clients in Spicewood were using their guest house for storage. They love to entertain and have people over. It made sense to do a makeover that would be a peaceful, comfortable and welcoming place for friends and family to stay. In the main kitchen and family areas we used a soft blue on the walls to play off of the granite and tile backsplash. We kept all of the upholstered items neutral to wear well with people coming in off of the lake and to further create a peaceful atmosphere.
The pillows were just standard throw type pillows. I wanted to design new pillows to actually work as a back cushion to make the sitting area more comfortable. The back pillows are a foam core custom insert wrapped in down to make them firm, but comfortable.
The chairs on this patio had been there for quite awhile and were in need of re-upholstery. I wanted to brighten them up from the neutral tones to give it a little punch.
